In Korea, fifteenth day of every month is designated as the day of civil defense exercise and it is operated nationwide. The exercise includes; evacuation and adaptation drill to the situations.
PREPARATIONS FOR EMERGENCY AND A CODE OF CONDUCT
- Do not leave your home, listen to the broadcast and wait for the further announcement from the government.
- Do not evacuate aimlessly, nor get into panic buying of necessities such as food and fuel. If the government executes rationing, you are to actively cooperate to the government.
- Do not be disturbed by the false propaganda and do not engaged in supporting enemies.
- Operation of private vehicles would be restricted to assist military operations thus please use the public transportation and refrain from using your personal telecommunication devices such as mobile phones and even land line phones unless in emergency case.
- Make sure to know about where a shelter and emergency water supply is located near your home and office and if an air raid is expected, you must immediately evacuate to a underground shelter.

procedure when earthquake occurs
- Make sure to get rid of any inflammable things (ie. gas) away when earthquake takes place.
- Protect yourself from falling debris by using a solid fixture such as a table.
- Secure the exit, evacuate while maintaining given instruction. Minimize your belongings as much as possible.
- Do not stand near a building. Protect yourself from falling debris around buildings in case of collapse.
