SUPPORTING POLICY FOR CHILD HEADED FAMILY

The policy is offering basic livelihood allowance, medical allowance including additional allowances to the families of recipients of national basic livlihood security headed by a child under 18 years of age. It also minimized problems of using sponsorship by instructing a proper way to utilize the fund including appointing a guardian or sponsor so that the families headed by a child could actually consult with the appointed person or religious group, a district female leader or any other sponsors by establishing a cooperative system.

FAMILY FOSTER CARE PROTECTION SYSTEM

A child under 18 years of age who needs a short-term care away from parents' assault, disease, confinement and possible run-away can live a normal life by fostering the child to a general house.

  • Basic requirement in selecting a foster family (Same rule is applied to cousins and public in general
    • No back ground history of crime, domestic violence, child abuse, alcohol or drug abuse.
    • A family with parenting experience.
    • Financially stable family.

      · Must be recommended by two neighbors at least. or from a public child consulting office.
      · The members of family should not exceed more than 4 people including the family's own children.

The center prevents children from missing and if it occurs, it helps to find the missing child as fast as possible.

DAY CARE SERVICE

  • The day care service provides a comfortable environment in an effort to contribute to home welfare promotion by helping parents' social and economical activities while cultivating infants and children to be a sound member of society and improving quality of education. The service is for children from age 0 and until entering a school. There are 20 city-run care center and 106 privately-run center in Seocho-gu.
