According to the law of promoting library and reading, a public library refers to a facility established by the government, the regional government or local government groups to provide information, culture activities and life-long education for general public.

READING FACILITY(PUBLIC READING ROOM)
  • Seocho-gu operates a reading room.
  • Although the facility doesn't have books or articles, it provides a space for our citizen to read and study. There are two types of reading rooms of which, one is operated by 'gu' and the other one operated privately.

    National Library of Korea, the biggest one in Korea, was opened on October 1945. The library has about 3.03 millions of books and articles to be used as source of knowledge and foundation for academic research.
