Clinics provides initial treatments including Korean medicine and physical treatments. They also issue a written diagnose and blood and the liver test, X-rays and physical treatments are low in price.

FOREIGNERS
  • A non-Korean with medical insurance certificate can receive the same medical treatment as Koreans get. However, while a non-Korean without the certificate can receive the same treatment service, the treatment will not be covered by the insurance.
Free Medical Examination for Foreign Laborers
  • When: All Year Round
  • Subject: Chinese-Koreans & foreign laborers residing in Seocho-gu.
  • Note: Please do not have breakfast on the day of the examination
  • Fields: 25 different fields including hepatitis B (diabetes, liver diseases, hyperlipidemia, hepatitis, kidney diseases, anemia, and others).
  • Procedure: 2nd Floor Examination Room at the Health Clinic → X-ray → Examination Room
  • Results: Mailed one week after examination
    • Those found to have health issues will receive medical consultations and be introduced to the free medical treatment program provided by the Seoul Medical Association.

  • Korean Medicine

    Filling cavity (Only the children age between 5-7 living in Seocho-gu), fluoride application (bring your own tooth brush because you will learn proper brushing as well), regular oral check-up, early cavity treatment (only Amalgam is possible), simple extraction (a milk tooth, a tooth that are seriously loosen), the initial gum disease.

    Seocho District Office is running a dental clinic for the disabled. The same examination and treatment are provided by volunteers. This clinic is for the disabled whose conditions are not adequate to receive the normal dental examination and treatment.

  • Maternity/Infants

    Medical service for pregnant women
    Pregnant women are to be offered basic physical checkup. The service is composed of tests on blood, urine, hepatitis B and syphilis. Monthly examination includes ultrasonic examination, and supply of iron medicine according to the result of the examinations.

  • Medical Service for Infants

    Health examination, designed to the developmental stage of the infant, is offered at free of charge along with supply of nutritive medicine. Also, to prevent retard, examination on inherent metabolic disorder is offered to 2 to 7 days old infants.

  • Medical Examination for Kindergarten Kids

    To remove risk factors in advance by discovering the diseases at early stage and to give early treatment, the Public Health Center offers health examination for children who attend kindergartens in Seocho district. This medical checkup is composed of blood type verification, examination on physical constitution, general examination, and dental examination. Also it offers early eyesight test for preschool children around 5-6 ages. In case of abnormal symptom, close examination is to be followed at the secondary medical institution.

  • Vaccinations

    Public Health Center offers various vaccinations including: B.C.G, Polio (infantile paralysis), MMR (Measles, mumps, rubella), DPT (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus) and vaccinations against encephalitis, mumps, hepatitis B, typhoid, and hemorrhage fever)

  • Who Needs Vaccinations?

    B.C.G:from 2 month-old to 6 year-old children (basic and additional vaccination)
    Polio:from 2 month-old to 6 year-old children (basic and additional vaccination)
    DPT:from 15 month-old to 6 year-old children (basic and additional vaccination)
    Rubella: 10th grader Highschool girls
    Encephalitis: The First Period (basic): at the age of 3
    The Second Period (additional): at the age of 4 and every other year till the age of 15

    • Hepatitis B: New born infants in four weeks / two more basic vaccination afterward
    • Typhoid: Workers at food sanitation facility and feeding facilities
    • Hemorrhage Fever: People mostly living outdoor lives.
CONTROL OF CHAONIC INFECTIVE DISEASE
  • Treatment of Tubercle

    For people with respiratory symptom, tubercle patients, family members of the patient, service industry workers or people who wants the examination, the examination is offered at free of charge. If any oen is turned out to be the patient, the center supplies the medication for 2,000 won per month.

  • Venereal Treatment

    In case of suspecting possible venereal disease, the center offers the examination at free of charge, along with treatment according to charge standard of the medical insurance.

  • Rehabilitative Supporting Center

    Public Health Center lends the donated rehabilitative equipments to the relevant residents along with nurse's visit.

PUBLIC HEALTH ENHANCEMENT
  • Physical Strength Check-up

    Public Health Center is operating Health Enhancement Center, where any resident of Seocho district can utilize facilities and obtain appropriate exercising method. Any resident of Seocho district can use Health Enhancement Center by telephone reservation.

  • Examination prior to marriage

    To prevent inherent venereal diseases and infectious diseases, this examination is offered to the regional resident who are expecting their marriage.

  • Health Examination for Senior Citizens

    Annual health examination (free of charge) is offered to the regional residents over 65 years of age. The result is notified by mail 3 weeks after the examination. On treatable disease, the treatment is also offered at free of charge.

  • The AIDS Infected

    All relevant examinations are offered at free of charge if suspicious of the AIDS infection and personal information and result of the examination is kept confidential.
    The AIDS infected among regional residents can take consultation once a month for up to three times. Treatments are offered by affiliated hospitals as well.
